Did you know that even after going dry, roses can be helpful??!!
Not just as pot pourri, you can also dry the roses under the sun (a renewable energy), grind it into powder and use it for a variety of purposes, like face/body scrub, face mask/pack, hair pack..
You can also use the petals as it is once they go stale, to make homemade rosewater..
Just do not trash something that can be recycled easily, at home, with little to no effort..
The rest of the flower can easily be composted..
